Ebenezer Methodist Episcopal Chapel and Cemetery, South

The gravestone inscriptions listed are based on a survey of the cemetery originally done by the Great River Genealogical Society of Adams County in 1986. These were checked and additional burials have been added by members of the Ebenezer Chapel and Burial Society. This data is current to January 1, 1994. The Ebenezer Chapel was listed on the National Historical Register as a Historic Building on June 4, 1984. It is listed as: "Ebenezer Methodist Episcopal Chapel and Cemetery, NW of Golden, Adams Co., IL" . Detailed directions to the Ebenezer Chapel & Cemetery are as follows: Start at the intersection of IL State Routes 61 and 94. Go north 1 mile to County Road N-2700. Go west 1 ½ miles to County Road E-2100. Go north (actually northwest) ½ miles to Ebenezer Chapel and Cemetery, located at the intersection of County Roads N-2750 and E-2100. The Chapel and the Cemetery are maintained by donations from the descendants of those buried in the cemetery. A fund has been set up and administered by the Ebenezer Chapel and Burial Society, a non-profit corporation registered with the State of Illinois. Anyone who makes an annual donation is entitled to be a voting member of the Society, and is invited to attend the annual Board meeting held after Sunday services every Memorial Day weekend at the Chapel. The Chapel is open for services only on Memorial Day weekend, or by special arrangements made with the Board. Inquires and donations can be sent to:

Who are we?

  • Dennis Partridge

County coordinator for ILGenWeb. Do you have content to share? Do you have questions, comments, or to report a broken link or other issue, contact Dennis Partridge at [email protected]. Some questions may be answered on our FAQ page.

  • ILGenWeb

ILGenWeb isn’t an ordinary genealogy website. Ordinary websites are those where text and sometimes pretty pictures are present, but trying to get in touch with a real person to help you with your research… impossible. The strength of ILGenWeb is its many volunteers, some of whom have spent over a decade assisting others with their Illinois research.

  • USGenWeb

A group of volunteers working together to provide free genealogy websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States. This Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free genealogy access for everyone.
